One of the big problems with government being in charge of the nanny-state and our security is that they can't discriminate. They are pulling grandma aside and strip-searching her in the airport because she is number 8 in the rotation, when the rag-head terrorist is number 9 and moves right thru. The nanny state administrators can't dole out tough love, they only know how to throw money at the problem, forget that the solution is not the same in Alaska as it is in NY. Both of these flaws will allow the nanny-state to swell until we go TILT.

UPDATE: from the Philadelphia Enquirer - Did you hear about the Camden cop whose disabled son wasn't allowed to pass through airport security unless he took off his leg braces? The screener told them to take off the boy's braces. The Thomases were dumbfounded. "I told them he can't walk without them on his own," Bob Thomas said."He said, 'He'll need to take them off.' "

NOW THIS: from CNN -Washington (CNN) -- To the list of instructions you hear at airport checkpoints, add this: "Put your palms forward, please."The Transportation Security Administration soon will begin randomly swabbing passengers' hands at checkpoints and airport gates to test them for traces of explosives. (note that it says "RANDOM", too bad if some rag-head fits the profile, he won't be discriminated against.....)
